Urological Specialists

Urology Nurses

At West Coast Urology we have a strong committment to excellence in patient care and an integral part of this is the role played by our nursing team.
Teresa and Selen are all very experienced urology nurses. Their position is affiliated with St John of God Hospital, where they play a role in nursing education and support of the Urology services at the hospital. This level of expertise allows them to deliver a high standard of services to our patients and their families.

Teresa's and Selen's roles in our practice are multi-faceted. They assist Mr. Grills and Dr. McLeod with minor procedures in our rooms, and administer treatments for bladder cancer, prostate cancer and some bladder disorders under their supervision. They independently perform procedures under Mr Grills' and Dr McLeods' direction including: catheter insertions and changes, teaching intermittent self catheterisation, hormone injections, erectile dysfunction treatments, urinary flow rates and bladder scans. Rhonnie, Selen and Teresa play a very active role in patient education and also support our patients whilst they are in hospital with daily visits or more frequently if required. You may also see them before your surgery and they are always a valuable source of information and advice about treatment options and management strategies for any of the Urological conditions experienced by our patients. They are friendly and approachable, and are passionately committed to providing excellence in nursing care.

Teresa and Selen each work part-time and are available during office hours during Monday to Friday. They are available for telephone support as well as face-to-face sessions as required. Some of their specialist services are not covered by Medicare and there may be a small, non-rebatable fee required for an individual consultation with them at West Coast Urology.
